The Hope 4 Hayze Rodeo was our first two-day event—and of course, that’s exactly when the cooler decided to vanish.
Our latest event was our first two-day setup—and honestly, probably the smoothest one we’ve had so far. Maybe, just maybe, we’re finally figuring it out.
Well… kind of.
The A/C is still pretending to blow cool air. It was one of those heat-wave days where you start questioning all your life choices while sweat drips onto your pizza dough. Cute.
Sales were a little lower than we hoped for a two-day event, which stung a bit, but you know what? You show up, you learn, you adjust, and you keep going. Trailer life is nothing if not a slow-motion learning curve.
Now, somewhere in the chaos, we managed to lose an entire cooler. Yes—an entire cooler. Along with the ice scoop and the ice container. We’re optimistically assuming the scoop and container are inside the cooler, but it’s kind of hard to check that theory when the whole thing is MIA.
I mean… how do you lose a cooler? A spoon, sure. A towel, absolutely. But a whole cooler? Jeff (the husband) spent half the day searching for it. He refused to believe it was actually gone. Postal brain, maybe?
Inside the trailer? Smooth sailing.
Outside the trailer? A different story.
Jeff was helping Kobe back the trailer out, so I moved our car to give them more room. Except I parked juuuust in front of a very large, very unmissable rock. When Jeff pulled the trailer out? Yep. He hit it.
There. Is. Always. Something.
It’s not awful—you wouldn’t notice unless I pointed it out—but you know car repairs. It’s probably a $1,000 bump for a weekend where we didn’t even make that much. A perfect little plot twist.
So for now, we’re regrouping, repairing (literally), and figuring out our next event. Nothing booked yet… but stay tuned. You know we’ll end up somewhere with dough, drinks, and another story to tell.
Still figuring it out—one lost cooler at a time,
Stacy
