If you’ve noticed things have been a little quiet around here lately… there’s a reason.
Life has been moving at full speed. And if you live in Pennsylvania, you know that when winter drags on for approximately seven years, motivation sometimes slows down just a little too.
Between remodeling projects, getting ready for food trailer season, and trying to keep all the everyday pieces of life moving forward, the blog has taken a bit of a back seat. Not because there isn’t anything to talk about. Actually, the opposite is true.
There’s been a lot happening behind the scenes.
One of the biggest projects lately has been helping my daughter and her fiancé work on their house. If you’ve ever tackled a house project, you know how these things go. What starts as “just a quick update” somehow turns into paint, flooring, tools everywhere, and at least three extra trips to the hardware store because someone forgot something.
It has been busy, a little chaotic at times, but also really fun getting to help them work on their first home together. There’s something pretty special about being part of that stage of life.
At the same time, I’m shifting gears and getting ready for another season with Something Sourdough & The Pop Stop. Food trailer season always sneaks up faster than expected. One minute it feels like the off-season just started, and the next minute you’re making lists, planning menus, organizing supplies, and wondering where half your equipment ended up during winter.
And speaking of winter… Pennsylvania has really committed to the whole cold and gray aesthetic this year. When it’s freezing outside for what feels like the hundredth day in a row, sometimes the best productivity plan is coffee, a blanket, and convincing yourself that warmer weather is eventually coming.
Somewhere.
Hopefully before July.
And of course, mixed in with all of this are the normal parts of life. Work, family events, projects, ideas, and the constant process of figuring out what the next step looks like.
So consider this a bit of a catch-up post.
Over the next few weeks I’m planning to circle back and share more about everything that’s been going on, including:
• The house remodeling projects we’ve been working on
• Food trailer prep and behind-the-scenes for the season ahead
• The real life balancing act of work, family, and trying new things later in life
Life lately has been a little busy, a little messy, and occasionally powered by coffee and stubborn determination.
But honestly, that’s kind of the point of Figuring It Out at 50 (well… almost 50).
More stories coming soon.
Running on coffee, house projects & the hope that winter eventually ends ☕❄️
