Wedding Prep: The Beautiful Chaos 💍🧁

If you’ve been wondering what I’ve been up to lately… the answer is simple.

Wedding.

Actually… wedding everything.

This has officially been the week of icing, powdered sugar, and wondering if my kitchen will ever look normal again.

So far we’ve baked 200 cupcakes, made 800 cream cheese mints, and mixed up enough cookie dough to hopefully turn into about 250 cookies. (The dough is made… now we’re trusting the math.)

Oh… and there’s still a wedding cake to make.

Because apparently sleep is optional.

Thursday is flower day, which means picking flowers for all of the table arrangements. Somewhere in between all of that we’ll finish the desserts, pack everything up, and hope we remembered all the little things that somehow become big things on wedding day.

This has truly been a do-it-yourself wedding.

And let me tell you…

DIY doesn’t necessarily mean inexpensive.

It just means you’re trading money for time, sweat, and probably a few late nights.

By the time you add in tents, tables, chairs, a DJ, photographer, videographer, flowers, food, decorations… it adds up fast.

Really fast.

I’ve gained a whole new appreciation for everyone who plans a wedding.

This year has been full of moments I never expected. Some have been incredibly hard, and others have been filled with so much joy. If there’s one thing I’m learning, it’s that life doesn’t pause while you’re going through difficult seasons. There are still weddings to plan, flowers to pick, cupcakes to frost, and memories to make. So you take a deep breath, keep putting one foot in front of the other, and do the next thing that needs done.

But despite the long to-do lists, tired feet, and kitchen that currently looks like a bakery exploded, I wouldn’t trade it.

There’s something pretty special about watching your daughter prepare to marry the person she loves. Being able to help create the day she’s dreamed about makes all the measuring, mixing, frosting, and flower picking worth it.

Ask me again after I finish the wedding cake. 😄

For now, we’re checking things off one by one, hoping the cookies stretch to 250, and counting down the days until everyone says, “I do.”

I’ll be sure to share pictures after the big day… assuming I remember to take them!

With coffee, icing & wedding checklists ☕🧁💍

I’m Stacy…

Navigating the middle with caffeine, courage, and a whole lot of “let’s just try it and see.” I built an online boutique (Apparel 212), and now I’m pivoting into food-trailer chaos while paying down debt and figuring out midlife hormones. This is the honest, messy side of reinventing life in my late-40s/50ish years — where the middle isn’t the end… it’s just where the story gets good.
